On the historic occasion marking its 52nd Independence Anniversary, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf over the weekend sent a congratulatory message to the Government and People of the Republic of Mali on the observance of the event.

In her message to her Malian counterpart, President Johnson Sirleaf on behalf of Liberia extended profound congratulations and best wishes to President Dioncounda Traore, and through him, to the Government and People of Mali as the people of Mali celebrate this unique occasion.

President Sirleaf further hoped that the bond of friendship and cordial ties between Liberia and Mali will continue to grow even stronger in the years ahead. 

She then wished for the people of Mali peace, unity and prosperity.
