The President of the Republic of Liberia,  H.E. Madam  Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has expressed confidence that the people's Republic of China, will continue to prosper under the wise policies that have accelerated the Economic growth and prosperity of China over the years.

According to a Foreign Ministry release issued in Monrovia, President Johnson-Sirleaf statement was contained in a  congratulatory message to the Government and people of the People's Republic of China on the auspicious occasion marking the 61st Independence Anniversary of that Country.

In the  message to her Chinese counterpart, HIS Excellency  Hu Jintao, president Johnson Sirleaf extended warmest felicitations and best wishes to the  Government and People of the  People's Republic of China on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, and in her own name.

President Johnson-Sirleaf further expressed hope that as  Liberians join the people of China in commemorating this auspicious occasion, the bonds of friendship subsisting between the two  Countries and peoples will continue to be cemented in the years  ahead.

The Liberian leader wished for the president, Government and People of China, the blessing of peace, cohesion, and increasing prosperity under  the  progressive leadership of President Hu Jintao.
