President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Congratulates the Government and People of Sierra Leone

The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Mrs. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has congratulated the Government and People of the Republic of Sierra Leone on the auspicious occasion marking the 50th Independence Anniversary of that country.


In the Message to her sierra Leonean counterpart, His Excellency Ernest Bai Koroma, President Johnson-Sirleaf extended warmest felicitations and best wishes to the Sierra Leonean leader, and through him, to the Government and People of the Republic of Sierra Leone, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name.


A Foreign Ministry release says, President Johnson-Sirleaf further expressed hope that as Liberians join the People of the Sisterly republic of Sierra Leone in observing this important occasion in their national history, the two Governments will work together in the realization of the objectives of the Mano River Union, ECOWAS, AU and The United Nations.


The Liberian Leader also expressed confidence that the bond of friendship and Economic Cooperation subsisting between Liberia and Sierra Leone will continue to be solidified in the years ahead.


President Johnson-Sirleaf then prayed that the Almighty God will continue to endow President Koroma with abundant wisdom and good health as he leads his people.
