President Sirleaf Expresses Condolences to Ghana

The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has extended heartfelt condolences to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, and the people of Ghana for the sudden death of the former Ghanaian Leader, His Excellency Professor John Atta Mills.


President Mills died on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra, Ghana following a period of brief illness. His Vice President Mr. John Dramani Mahama was sworn in several hours later, as President after he was confirmed by the Parliament.


While expressing great shock and profound sadness, the Liberian Leader, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in her own name, extended to President Mahama and the People of Ghana condolences for the irreparable loss sustained.


President Johnson Sirleaf remarked that the late President Mills will be remembered as a champion for democracy, good governance, and an astute African Statesman.


She added that the People of Liberia share this national loss of the brotherly People of Ghana.
