President Sirleaf Consoles the Republic of Sudan
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf over the weekend sent a message of condolence to the Government and People of the Republic of Sudan following the sad news of a tragic plane crash which resulted to the death of 32 people including the Minister of Endowment, two army generals and television crew members.
It can be recalled that on August 19, 2012, a plane crashed in the southern mountains of Sudan killing all occupants on board.
In her message, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on behalf of Liberia extended heartfelt condolences to President Omar Hassan El-Bashir, and through him, to the government and people of Sudan as well as the bereaved families for the loss sustained as a result of the crash.
President Johnson Sirleaf added that her Government received the news with profound regrets and deepest of sorrow as she expressed sympathy over the incident.
The Liberian Leader then hoped and prayed that as Liberians join the people of Sudan in mourning this national loss, the Almighty God will grant the Sudanese leader strength, courage, and fortitude as he steers the affairs of the state.
