President Sirleaf Congratulates President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a congratulatory message to President Ernest Bai Koroma on the occasion of his re-election as President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

In her message, President Johnson Sirleaf, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to President Koroma, and members of the All People’s Congress Party (APC) for this resounding victory.

She said the victory reflects the confidence and trust of his compatriots in President Koroma’s ability to steer the affairs of state.

She commended the people of Sierra Leone for the relatively calm and peaceful manner in which they conducted the elections and expressed her joy over the orderly transition in that neighboring sisterly Republic.

President Johnson Sirleaf then hoped that the cordial relations subsisting between Liberia and Sierra Leone will continue to be cemented under the inspiring leadership of President Koroma.

She added that Liberia will continue to work cooperatively with Sierra Leone in promoting the objectives of the Mano River Union (MRU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the African Union (AU) and the United Nations.
