Foreign Minister Ngafuan off to ECOWAS Summit

Foreign Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan at the head of a Liberian government delegation leaves the country today to attend an Extraordinary Summit of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government.

Foreign Minister Ngafuan is to represent President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf at the Heads of State Meeting which will focus on the political and security situations in Mali and Guinea Bissau.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the meeting of the Heads of State and Government is necessitated by the recent developments in both countries. 

The ECOWAS Summit takes place in the Ivorian Capital, Abidjan on Thursday, April 26,2012 and will be chaired by the President of Ivory Coast H.E. Alassane Ouattara.
