Ambassador Alexander Wallace Heads Liberia Delegation to Egypt’s Economic Development Conference

The Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia accredited to the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Alexander H.N. Wallace III, represented the Government of the Republic of Liberia at Egypt’s Economic Development Conference which took place from March 13-15, 2015 in Egypt’s resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

 

The Conference, attended by over 2000 delegates from 112 countries, was aimed at presenting Egypt’s economic development visions, strategies and reforms designed to attract foreign investments, encourage private sector investments and improve social services for the citizens. The event thus generated political and economic support for Egypt, with investment deals and memoranda of understanding worth over $100 billion, for energy, constructions and other developmental projects initiated by local and international companies as well as other governments. During the three-day conference, the Egyptian Government displayed a project for construction of a new capital city to contain the nation’s administrative and financial districts.

 

The Liberia delegation met with H.E. Ashraf Salman, Minister of Investment of Egypt and had a brief discussion with him on a new bilateral trade arrangement between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Liberia, an idea the Minister welcomed and extended Ambassador Wallace an invitation for detail discussion. Ambassador Wallace also met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Foreign Minister Sameh Hassan Shoukry and conveyed greetings on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Liberia.

 

The Ambassador was accompanied to the milestone conference by Mr. Muhammad A. Kromah II, Protocol Officer/Administrative Assistant.
