Amb. Nelson Presents Credentials to Emperor Naruhito of Japan -Promises to Strengthen Japan-Liberia Relations

The Liberian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Japan His Excellency Blamoh Nelson, has officially submitted his Letters of Credence to His Majesty Naruhito, Emperor of the Republic of Japan.

 

A Foreign Minister Release quoting a dispatch from the Liberian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan said the colorful ceremony took place on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at the Imperial Palace, Tokyo. Japan.

 
At a ceremony which was marked by the elegance, pump and pageantry of Japanese royal tradition, Ambassador Nelson conveyed profound greetings and best wishes from President George Manneh Weah and the Government and People of Liberia to   
Emperor Naruhito and the people of japan.    

 

Ambassador Nelson assured the Japanese leader of Liberia’s commitment and determination to continue the existing bilateral ties and cooperation with the Republic of Japan.

 

 The Liberian diplomatic Envoy also promised to work closely with the Japanese Government aimed at improving Japan-Liberia relations and cooperation. 

 

According to the dispatch, since his arrival in Japan, Ambassador Nelson has paid several courtesy calls on key officials of the Japanese Government as well as members of the diplomatic staff near Toyko including the Doyen of the Diplomatic Corps  in Tokyo, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of  San Marino to Japan, Grand Cr. Prof. Manlio Cadelo;

 

Others include His Excellency Afeworki Haile Estifanos, Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps (ADC) and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Eritrea to japan; His Excellency Jérôme Klôh Weya, Dean of the ECOWAS Diplomatic Group in Tokyo and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to japan; His Excellency Prof. Mohammed Gana Yisa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, respectively.

 

In response, His Majesty Emperor Naruhito who spoke through an interpreter congratulated the Liberian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan H. E. Blamo Nelson on his appointment as Liberia’s Ambassador to that country.

 

His Majesty Naruhito then used the occasion to extend best wishes to President George Manneh Weah as he steers the affairs of Liberia expressing delight over Liberia-japan relations.

 

The Japanese leader hailed Ambassador Nelson’s preferment as Liberia’s Ambassador to Japan. He also wished for Ambassador Nelson good health and personal well-being as he embarks on his tour of duties as Liberia’s Envoy near Tokyo, Japan.    

 

Ambassador Blamoh Nelson is Liberia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary accredited to Japan with concurrence accreditation to seven (7) other Asian countries including the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and New Zealand pending his presentation of Credentials to said countries’ Heads of State and Government.   

 

Ambassador Nelson comes with a wealth of experience in leadership having served in various leadership roles as Former Minister of Internal Affairs, 2012 to 2013, Senator, Grand Kru County, 2006 to 2011, Advisor to the President, National Transitional Government of Liberia, (NTGL) 2003 to 2006, Director General of the Cabinet, Office of the President, R.L, 1997 to 2003 among other high ranking positions held in government and the private sector.
