President Weah Extends Felicitations to the Republic of Cuba on Independence observance

President George Manneh Weah has sent a congratulatory message to the Government and people of the Republic of Cuba, on the occasion marking the observance of that country’s Independence Anniversary. 

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, in the message to his Cuban Counterpart, His Excellency Miguel Diaz-Canel, President George Manneh Weah conveyed, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, and in his own name, warmest felicitations and sincere best wishes to the Government and people of Cuba, as they commemorate this historic event.

 

“Joining you in this celebration, permits us the opportunity to reflect on the harmonious bond of amity subsisting between our two countries, characterized by sincere cooperation and friendship which has recorded exponential growth”, President Weah declared.

 

The Liberian President further stated that it is in the spirit of the friendly bilateral engagement between Liberia and Cuba that his government reflects in our increasing collaboration, manifested by the visit of the Caban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in September 2019, the maintenance of Cuban Mission near Monrovia and the provision of several scholarships in various fields amongst other things, which presents the opportunity to bolster effort in furthering our deep historic ties.

 

The Liberian leader then wished for his Cuban counterpart continued good health and peacefulness, for the Government and people of Cuba, as they sustained economic growth and prosperity.
