The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, has sent a congratulatory message to the Government and People of the Republic of Malaysia on the occasion of their 62^nd Independence Anniversary.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, in the message to the Prime Minister of Malaysia,His Excellency Mahathir Bin Mohammed,President Weah extended warmest Congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in his own name.

The Liberian leader expressed fervent hope that these festivities will cultivate new frontiers in the existing bilateral ties between the two nations for the promotion of International peace and securities in keeping with the principals of the United Nations. 

He then prayed the ties of friendship subsisting between Malaysia and Liberia will be further strengthened for the mutual benefits of both countries.
