President Sirleaf Congratulates Great Britain

The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of  Great Britain on the occasion marking the re-election as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, the Rt. Hon. David Cameroon.

 

n the message to Rt. Hon. David Cameroon, Prime Minister–elect  President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf noted that the renewal of Prime Minister Cameroon’s mandate further demonstrates the trust and confidence of the People of the United Kingdom in his visionary leadership.

 

The Liberian leader further extended warmest congratulations on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name and acknowledged with commendation, that over the last five years the Government of the Great Britain laid the foundations for better future and now considers building on these foundations to ensure that the Great Britain remains strong, prosperous and united.

 

She said in the message, it is satisfying to note that for more than a century and a half, the Peoples of Liberia and the Great Britain continue to enjoy historic and friendly ties and have developed keen interest on expanding cordial relations; and noted on May 9, 2015 the World Health Organization declared Liberia free from Ebola was a impressive assistance received from the International community including Great Britain and the resilience of the Liberian people have largely contributed to our triumph over the deadly Ebola Virus Epidemic which plagued our country for several months.

 

Liberia continue to remain grateful for Great Britain’s assistance, particularly targeting the infrastructure and health sector and entertain the hope that as Prime Minister David Cameroon assume his demanding role, it is her desire that the bond of friendship and cooperation which happily subsist between the Liberia and Great Britain would be further deepened and strengthened for mutually rewarding benefit.
