President Weah Applauds Jamaica On 56th Independence Observance

The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency George Manneh Weah has sent a congratulatory message to the Government and people of Jamaica on the occasion commemorating the 56th Independence Anniversary of that country.    

 

Jamaica gained her Independence on August 6, 1962 from the United Kingdom which is known as Jamaica’s Independence-Day and celebrated each year as a National Holiday.  

 

In the message to His Excellency The Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen, Governor-General of Jamaica, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of Liberia, extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of Jamaica as they celebrate this historic milestone.    

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President George Manneh Weah further assured the Jamaican leader of Liberia’s appreciation for the historic bond of friendship and cooperation subsisting between Liberia and Jamaica which he said was manifested by the contributions of Jamaican police officers to the United Nations Missions in Liberia, (UNMIL) to assist in the peace-building process.     

 

The Liberian leader then prayed that the people of Jamaica will continue to enjoy prosperity and the blessings of peace and unity.
