President Sirleaf Congratulates Ghana on 59th Independence Anniversary

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Ghana on the occasion commemorating the 59th Independence Anniversary of that country.

 

In the Liberian President’s message to her Ghanaian counterpart, H.E. Mr. John Dramani Mahama, she extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of Ghana on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia and in her own name.

 

President Sirleaf expressed gratitude for the strong support and collaboration the Government and people of Ghana provided during the Ebola outbreak in Liberia which contributed significantly to the containment of the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in Liberia and for the continued positive engagement both at bilateral and multilateral levels.

 

She noted that as the people of Ghana celebrate another milestone in their nationhood, it is her fervent prayer that the relations subsisting between their two countries will continue to be strengthened for the mutual benefit of their two peoples.

 

She then prayed that the Almighty God will endow President Mahama with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads his people to sustainable peace and greater prosperity.
