Liberia’s Ambassador accredited to the Federal Republic of Germany, Her Excellency Ms. Youngor Sevelee Telewoda has presented her Letters of Credence to His Excellence Dr. Frank Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, thus accrediting her as Liberia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Federal Republic of Germany.

She was accompanied by Liberia’s diplomatic staff at its Embassy near Berlin, the Federal Republic of Germany including Madam Comfort O. Swengbe, Minister-Counsellor and Mr. Charles H.V Allen, Jr, Councellor for Political and Economic Affairs.

According to a dispatch from the Liberian Embassy near Berlin, Ambassador Telewoda’s Presentation of Credentials has given a new impetus to the special relations subsisting between the Republic of Liberia and the Federal Republic of Germany which undoubtedly laid the foundation for increased corporation in Political, Economic and cultural fields.

Ambassador Telewoda brings a wealth of experience in the field of diplomacy and leadership to the new post having served previously at both bilateral and multilateral levels as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan; with Co-Accreditation to Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, the Kingdom of Thailand and New Zealand from 2011 to 2017.

Prior to her ascendency to the ambassadorial level, Ambassador Telewoda served in the capacity as Minister Counsellor at Liberia’s Permanent Mission at the United Nations in New York.   From 2003 to 2010, Madam Telewoda served as Liberia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Belgium; with concurrent accreditation to the Netherlands, the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg and the European Union.

While serving as Liberian Ambassador to Republic of Japan, Madam Telewoda served as the Dean of the ECOWAS Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo, Japan.  The Liberian Ambassador, who currently serves as Member of the Board of Directors of the Angie Brooks International Center for Woman Empowerment and Leadership, played a significant role in the process that led to the phase one and two construction of the US$100 Million japan funded four lane Gardnerville/ Somalia Drive road.

 It was during the tenure and dynamic leadership of Ambassador Telewoda that the Gardnerville- Somalia Drive Road construction project was initiated between Liberia and the Federal Republic of Germany, the release further stated.
