President Sirleaf Congratulates Botswana on 50th Independence Day

Her Excellency President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a warm congratulatory message to the Government and People of the Republic of Botswana on the occasion commemorating the 50th Independence Anniversary of that country.

In her message to His Excellency Lieutenant General Secretse Khama Ian Khama, President of the Republic of Botswana, the Liberian leader stated “On behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Liberia and in my own name, I extend to you and through your Excellency, to the Government and People of Botswana warmest congratulations on the occasion marking the 50th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Botswana”.

The Liberian President said as Liberia joins Botswana in celebrating this golden jubilee, her government recognizes, with deep satisfaction, the increasingly momentous partnership both countries have recorded in recent years.

President Johnson Sirleaf hoped that the bond of friendship so happily subsisting between the two countries and peoples will continue to be strengthened in the years to come as both governments look forward to collaborating closely, for the promotion of peace, security and economic integration.
