The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a Message of Condolences to the Government and People of the Republic of India for the irreparable lost sustained owing to a plane crash which resulted to the death of at least 158 people.
 
President Johnson-Sirleaf expressed deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to Her Indian counterpart, His Excellency A. P. J. Kalam, and through him, to the Government and People of the Republic of India, particularly the bereaved families for irretrievable lost sustained.

President Johnson-Sirleaf then prayed that the Almighty Allah will grant President A. P. J. Kalam and the brotherly people of India solace and courage during this period of National Mourning.

Meanwhile, President Johnson-Sirleaf has also sent a Congratulatory Message to the President, Government and people of the Republic of Argentina on the auspicious occasion marking the independence celebration of that great country.

In the message to Her Argentine counterpart, Her Excellency Madam Cristina Fernandez De Kirchner, President Johnson-Sirleaf extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia.

The Liberian leader noted that the mutual ties of friendship and cooperation subsisting between the two countries will continue to be further enhanced as both Governments indentify new areas of collaboration in the supreme interest of the two people.
