President Weah Consoles Ghana Following The Death of Former President Rawlings

The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah has extended heartfelt condolences to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the People of Ghana for the sudden death of the former President of the Republic of Ghana Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings (Rtd.).                                                                                                                                                                                        

 

Former President Flt. Lt. Rawlings died on Thursday morning, November 12, 2020 in Accra after a short illness.

 

While expressing deep sorrow and profound sadness, the Liberian Leader, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in his own name, extended to President Akufo-Addo and the People of Ghana, especially the bereaved condolences for the irreparable loss sustained.

 

President Weah remarked that the late President Rawlings will be remembered for his role played in Africa’s struggle for a sustained multi-party democracy and will also be remembered by Ghana and Africa as a whole for his quest of national unity and loyalty to his country.

 

The Liberian leader then hoped that the resilience and strength that the people of Ghana have demonstrated during challenging circumstances will be brought to bear during this difficult period of national mourning.
