Foreign Minister Findley Assures Partners of Government's Commitment to Upholding Tenets of Universal Human Rights.
Liberia's Foreign Minister H. E. Gbehzohngar Milton Findley on Monday October 29, 2018 received in audience a delegation from the United Nations Human Rights Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and Cruel, Inhuman, Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
The visiting delegation which is headed by Sir Malcolm EVANS is in the country to hold talks with relevant government functionaries in the criminal justice sector of Liberia on human right issues in the country.
Other members of the delegation include Ms. Mari Amos, Ms. Marija DEFINIS-GOJANOVIC, Mr. Amen AVETISYAN and Mr. Satyabhooshun Gupt DOMAH.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, Minister Findley while holding talks with the delegation at his Foreign Ministry office in Monrovia assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Chief Entry Point Institution of Government would work with relevant actors and agencies to furnish the visiting team with information needed.
The Liberian Foreign Minister assured the human rights delegation of the Liberia’s Government commitment to continuously uphold the tenets of Universal Human Rights.
For His part the Head of Delegation of the Human Rights Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture Sir Malcolm EVANS assured the Foreign Minister that the purpose of their visit is not to be critical or negative about the Government, but to come up with a report that would highlight suggestions on ways to improve the Justice System of Liberia.
