Foreign Ministry Announces Funeral Arrangements for fallen Liberian Ambassador H.E. Mary-Ann Fossung
The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the funeral arrangements for fallen Liberian Ambassador Her Excellency Mary-Ann Fossung.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, on Tuesday March 3, 2020, the Book of Condolence for the late Mary-Ann Fossung will be opened in the Foyer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Liberia.
The signing of the Book of Condolence is scheduled to begin at ten-thirty ante meridians.
On Tuesday March 3, 2020, the President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah and members of the Cabinet will sign the Book of Condolence for the fallen Liberian Ambassador beginning from 10AM to 11AM.
Between 11:05 to 11:45, The Vice President of Liberia Her Excellency Madam Jewel Howard Taylor and Members of the Liberian Senate will sign the Book of Condolence followed by the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives between 11:50AM to 12:35PM.
His Honor the Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court will sign the Book of Condolence beginning at 12:40 to 1:05PM to be followed by Former Heads of State, Former Vice Heads of State and Former First lady from 1:10PM to 1:30PM.
The Doyen and Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Members of the Consular Corp and Heads of International Organizations will sign the Book of Condolence from 1:35PM to 2:05PM which will be followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Family, including current and former Ambassadors beginning from 2:10PM to 3:00PM.
Officials of the Liberian Government are scheduled to sign the Book of Condolence for the late Ambassador beginning from 3:05 to 3:30 which will be followed by Former Government Officials, the Clergy, the National Muslim Council and the general Public at separate time on the same date.
On Wednesday March 4, 2020 the wake-keeping for the late Her Excellency Mary-Ann Fossung will be held at the Providence Baptist Church on Ashmun Street, beginning from Seven O’clock Post meridian to Eleven O’clock Post meridian.
The release furthered, on Thursday March 5, 2020, at Nine O’clock ante meridian, the body of her Excellency Mary-Ann Fossung will be removed from the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Parlors in Sinkor and taken to the Providence Baptist Church on Ashmun Street where the funeral rites will be said over the remains beginning at ten O’clock ante meridian. Interment will follow right after at the Roycevill Cemetery in Montserrado County.
Meanwhile, as mark of last respect and tribute to the late Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Republic of Senegal, President George Manneh Weah has declared a period of mourning from Tuesday, March 3, 2020 through Thursday March 5, 2020 during which time the national ensign of the Republic will be flown at half-mast from all public buildings in Montserrado County from Eight O’clock ante meridian to Six O’clock post meridian.
