President Weah Applauds Kingdom Of Spain on ‘National Day’ Observance
President George Manneh Weah has congratulated the Government and people of the Kingdom of Spain on the occasion commemorating the National Day of that country.
National Day (Fiesta Nacional de España) or Hispanic Day (Día de la Hispanidad) is celebrated as an annual national public holiday in Spain on October 12. It commemorates when Christopher Columbus first set foot in the Americas in 1492.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, in his message to His Majesty King Felipe VI, President George Mnneh Weah, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, and in his own name, extended heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of Spain as they commemorate this joyous occasion.
“I would like to note with joy, your continual support to the many organizations that are involved with supporting the recovery and rebuilding efforts in Liberia,” the Liberian leader indicated.
President Weah also applauded the friendly ties subsisting between Liberia and the Kingdom of Spain hoping that such bond will continue to flourish and deepen as both countries endeavor for the attainment of global peace and security.
The Liberian President then wished for His Majesty’s personal well being, and for the people of the Kingdom of Spain, happy celebration with continued peace and prosperity.
