President Weah Consoles ECOWAS on loss of Former President, Mr. Marcel de Souza

President George Manneh Weah has sent a condolence message to His Excellency, Mr. Jean-Claude Kassi Brou, President of the ECOWAS Commission on the death of Former ECOWAS President Mr. Marcel de Souza.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah expressed profound sadness and deep sorrow about the sudden death of the Former President of the ECOWAS Commission, Mr. Marcel de Souza.

 

“Mr. Souza will be remembered for the reform initiatives of ECOWAS under his leadership, and for his contribution to development within the sub-region”. The Liberia leader said.

 

The Liberian leader on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia and in his own name extended deepest condolences to the ECOWAS Commission and the bereaved families for the irreparable loss sustained.

 

He then hopes that the ECOWAS region and the continent of Africa will find strength, courage, and endurance during this difficult period of mourning.

 

Mr. Marcel de Souza was Born on 30 October 1953 in Pobe, and the sad event of his death occurred in Paris, France on 17 July 2019
