The Qataris Charge d’ Affairs Pays Courtesy Visit on Foreign Minister Marjon Kamara

The Charge d Affaires of the Qatari Embassy accredited near Monrovia, H. E. Mr. Shamsan Abdullah Al-Sada, Wednesday, October 19, 2016, paid a Courtesy call on H. E. Ms. Marjon V. Kamara, Minister of Foreign Affairs  of the Republic of Liberia and held productive discussions aimed at strengthening  the existing Bilateral cooperation between both countries.

 

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Sada thanked the Liberian Foreign Minister for receiving him despite her busy schedule and expressed concerns on the relationship subsisting between the two countries, adding that his embassy wants to further strengthen the bilateral relations between his country and Liberia.

 

Chargé d’Affaires Al-Sada used the occasion to expressed gratitude to H. E. Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of the Republic of Liberia, for her interest in the DTA. He further stated that the Qatari Government has ratified the Air Service Agreement Treaty (ASAT) and encouraged the Liberian side to do the same.  

 

Among other things, the Chargé d’Affaires told the Foreign Minister that they are ready to sign more treaties for the mutual benefit of both countries and Peoples; adding: “The Embassy’s doors are always opened to Liberia at any time.”

 

Before the Foreign Minister’s response, the Deputy Foreign Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Integration, Hon. Dehpue Zuo, informed the Minister of the enormous progress that is being made, working along with other sectors of the Liberian Government, toward finalizing the government’s side.

 

Responding after welcoming Chargé d’Affaires Al-Sada, Liberia’s Chief Diplomat, Foreign Minister Kamara, expressed Government’s appreciation of Qatar’s Diplomatic presence in Liberia and wished that the relationships between both nations remain effective and concretized to the mutual benefit of both countries and peoples.

 

She informed Mr. Al-Sada that the concerns he had raised would be taken to President Sirleaf for her immediate action; and she assured him that Liberia is working diligently on meeting its side of the treaties.

 

“I will convey all the sentiments you have raised to the President. I can assure you that she will attach importance to them,” she assured Chargé d’Affaires Al-Sada.

 

The Foreign Minister also informed the Qatari Chargé d’Affaires that their request for a parcel of land to construct their embassy is being looked into and under consideration. She further informed him that their other request for state security for their Embassy was being processed.
