President Weah Congratulates Turkey on National Day Celebration; Promises to Strengthen Diplomatic Relations with Opening of Missions at Respective Capital
The President of the Republic of Liberia His.. Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah has sent a message of Congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Turkey on the observance of that country’s National Day.
In the message to H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of the government and people of Liberia, extended sincere congratulations and best wishes to the Turkish leader, and through him, to the Government and people of Turkey as they celebrate this historic event.
President George Manneh Weah observed that the bonds of friendship subsisting between the people of Liberia and Turkey have continued to grow as evidence by the two burgeoning trade and commerce between the two countries and peoples.
The Liberian President noted that within the span of a little over a decade, the volume of trade between Liberia and Turkey has increased from US $70 million to US $ 200 million; a testament to the cordial relations between both countries.
President George Manneh Weah said he remains sincerely grateful to the Republic of Turkey for its contributions to Liberia’s national development agenda.
He further expressed hope that the relationship between Liberia and turkey will be strengthened to include joint ventures in science, technology and educational project as well as trade, tourism and agriculture.
President George Manneh Weah said he looks forward to seeing the diplomatic ties between Liberia and turkey strengthened; with the opening of missions in their respective capitals, so as to enhance the issuance of visas to their respective peoples and ensure the traffic in commerce continues to blossom.
He then wished for President Recep Tayyip Erodogan continued well-being and for the Government and people of Turkey, sustained peace and prosperity.
