President Weah Applauds Congo on 60th Independence Celebration

President George Manneh Weah has congratulated the Government and People of the Republic of Congo on the occasion marking the 60th Independence Anniversary of that country. 

 

The Republic of Congo gained its independence on 15th   August 1960 which is celebrated each year as a National Holiday in Congo.

 

In the message to His Excellency Dennis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of Congo, President George Manneh Weah on behalf of Liberia, extended warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of Congo, as they commemorate this historic milestone.

 

President George Manneh Weah recalled with deep satisfaction, the increasing relationship existing between Liberia and Congo.

 

 He prayed that the bonds of friendship so happily subsisting between the two countries and peoples will be further strengthened in the spirit of the principle of the African Union and the United Nations.

 

President Weah then looks forward to working closely with his Congolese counterpart for the promotion of global peace, security and economic integration.
