The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has congratulated H.E. Mr. Yoweri Museveni, President-elect of the Republic of Uganda on his re-election as President of that country.

In her message to the Ugandan President-elect, President Sirleaf conveyed warmest congratulations on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia.

The Liberian President applauded the people of Uganda for the successful conduct of the election, which according to her, propels the country on the continued path of stability and economic growth.

President Sirleaf then entertained the hope that the cordial ties of friendship and cooperation subsisting between the two countries and peoples will be further strengthened in the spirit of African solidarity, as they both work together in furtherance of deeper cooperation at the African Union and the United Nations and other international forums aimed at promoting international peace and security amongst all nations.

The Liberian leader prayed that the Almighty God will endow President-elect Museveni with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads his people to nobler heights. “As you officially assume your office soon, we pray that the Almighty God will grant you the wisdom and fortitude to lead the great people of Uganda to prosperity and happiness,” she added.
