The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has sent a message of condolence to His Excellency Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Government and people of the Republic of Turkey on the sad occasion following the deadly terror attack in the city of Ankara, on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. The barbaric attack claimed the lives of twenty-eight (28) persons and left at least 61 others injured.

In her message to her Turkish counterpart, the Liberian President extended deepest condolences to the Government and people of Turkey especially to the aggrieved families, on behalf of the Government and people Liberia and in her own name.

The Liberian leader stressed that as a proponent of a sustained, civilized and safe global environment, Liberia strongly denounces and detests such horrific and barbaric act. She assured the Government and people of Turkey that the thoughts and prayers of the Government and people of Liberia are with them as they endure this difficult period of mourning.

President Sirleaf then prayed that the Most Merciful and Almighty Allah will continue to give President Erdoğan as well as the good people of Turkey, courage as they go through this time of mourning.
