President Boakai Consoles the Federal Republic of Nigeria

The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has sent a condolence message to the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria following the unfortunate and tragic death of at least seventy persons and injury to fifty-six people, due to a petrol tanker explosion in Niger State on Saturday, January 18, 2025. According to a Foreign Ministry release, in his message to His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Boakai expressed profound sadness for the passing of the 70 persons. The release says, President Boakai on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Liberia, extended deepest condolences to the Government and citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, especially the bereaved family for the immeasurable loss. “Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of national mourning, and we hope that the Almighty Allah grants you and the people of Nigeria the strength and resilience needed to navigate through this difficult period, and we also wish the injured people in the above-mentioned incident a speedy recovery”, President Boakai said.
