Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dean of the Cabinet, Mme. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Cybastion Institute of Technology, marking the beginning of a significant partnership aimed at enhancing Liberia’s digital infrastructure. This collaboration will focus on the establishment of a new data center and the addition of an underwater cable to bolster the nation's digital connectivity. The MOU signing, which took place at the Westin New York in Times Square, launches technical discussions with various government agencies under the framework of the “Digital Fast Track” (DFT) Program. The program is designed to accelerate Liberia's digital transformation, focusing on the improvement of digital services and infrastructure throughout the country.

During the ceremony, Minister Nyanti expressed her gratitude to President Boakai for his visionary leadership and support in fostering this key partnership with Cybastion. She emphasized the importance of the collaboration in driving Liberia's progress toward enhanced digital services and infrastructure, noting: "Today’s signing sets the stage for deeper technical discussions with relevant government agencies on the delivery of digital services as part of the ‘Digital Fast Track’ Program. The Government of Liberia, under the leadership of His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, views digital infrastructure as a cornerstone for accelerating our national development goals, encapsulated in the ARREST AGENDA. This agenda focuses on Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism."

Minister Nyanti also highlighted the anticipated visit of Cybastion’s team to Liberia for further discussions and the commencement of project implementation. Dr. Thierry Wandji, founder of Cybastion Institute of Technology, embraced President Boakai’s vision and affirmed the company’s commitment to extending its digital infrastructure projects to Liberia. Dr. Wandji, a cybersecurity expert with extensive experience working with the U.S. government, has led cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives across Africa, including Cote d’Ivoire, Niger, Burkina Faso, Benin, Central African Republic, and Namibia. The company aims to extend its engagement to more countries in West Africa, such as Liberia, Guinea, Ghana, and Sierra Leone.

The Cybastion Institute of Technology has played a pivotal role in strengthening cybersecurity and digital capabilities across the African continent. The company works in collaboration with American and African universities to enhance cybersecurity education through certificate and diploma programs, as well as to support economic development through digital infrastructure initiatives. With this MOU, Liberia joins a growing list of West African nations partnering with Cybastion, positioning the country to become a hub for digital innovation and transformation.
