President George Manneh Weah has sent a message of condolence to His Excellency Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangawa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and through him, to the Government and people of Zimbabwe following the death of His Excellency Robert Mugabe, former President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.  

Former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe died at the age of ninety-five.  

In the message to his Zimbabwean counterpart, His Excellency Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangawa, President George Manneh Weah expressed profound regrets and deep sorrow over the death of President Robert Mugabe, Former President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

According to a Foreign Ministry Release, the Liberian President noted that former President Robert Mugabe will be remembered for the formidable role he played as the Founding Father of the Republic of Zimbabwe in consolidating the embodiment of Africa’s struggle against colonialism.   

President George Manneh Weah further lamented that the late President Mugabe will be credited for transforming his country veritable wasteland of conflict after the liberation struggle into a promising stable country; his idea of national unity, as well as a functioning educational system saw Zimbabwe achieved an enormous level of literacy during his Presidency.

President George Weah further extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family for the irreparable loss sustained as a result of the passing of former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe.

The Liberian leader expressed hope that the resilience and strength that the people of Zimbabwe have always demonstrated during challenging circumstance will be the hallmark of its strength during this difficult period of national mourning.
