The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on  Tuesday, August 27 graduated 7 Seven  Female Law Enforcement Officerswho successfully completed a two-Week intensive Training  in Basic Diplomacy, Protocol and Etiquette Training.  

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the seven female law enforcement officers were recruited from the Liberia National Police.

The training was conducted by the Foreign Service Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with support from the International Development Law Organization (IDLO).

Speaking at the program marking the closing ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister for Administration Hon. Mawaine Diggs admonished the graduates to utilize the knowledge acquired to effectively discharge their duties at assigned areas.

“it is a pride to see young women ceasing unto opportunity to improve their capacity and we hope you apply what you have learned,” Deputy Minister Diggs stressed.

Also speaking at the closing program, the Acting Director General of the FSI, Mr. Remongar Dennis thanked the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) for the support and added that there is a need for more capacity building of employees and officials serving in the various Government Ministries and agencies.

While presenting the trainees to the Deputy Minister for Administration, Ambassador George W. Wallace, Jnr, who is the Advisor to the President on Foreign Affairs, indicated the participants are  trained to serve their country diligently, admonishing them to be professional in their engagement with foreign guests.

Ambassador Wallace also emphasized the need for authorities of the Liberia National Police to ensure that LNP Officers continue to benefit from Trainings in Protocol and Etiquette as well as in Basic Diplomacy.

For his part, the Coordinator of the FSI, Mr. John Yormie  who provided brief history of the training, noted that the Institute has succeeded in organizing two effective and successful protocol training programs  for employees of several Government Ministries and agencies.
