Minister Findley Commissions Mr. Salvatore d’Amico as Liberia’s Honorary Consul to Italy
Foreign Minister Gbehzongar Milton Findley has commissioned Mr. Salvatore d’Amico as Liberia’s Honorary Consul to Civitavecchia, the Republic of Italy.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, the ceremony took place in the Minister’s conference Room on the fourth floor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Administering the oath of office, Foreign Minister Gbehzongar Milton Findley challenged Mr. Salvatore d’Amico to take his new task seriously by promoting partnership between Liberia and the Italian shipping industry adding “Liberia has confidence in your ability to represent its interest in Italy.”
Minister Findley hoped that the continued cordial ties of friendship between Liberia and the Italian Maritime sector would be strengthened to the mutual benefits of both the peoples of Liberia and Italy.
The Liberian Foreign Minister further called on the new commissioned Honorary Consul to work with the Liberia Maritime Authority in developing a curriculum so as to strengthen Liberia’s maritime relationship with the shipping industry of Italy.
For his part, Mr. Salvatore d’Amico thanked the Liberian Government for the opportunity assuring that his company will continue to fly the flag of Liberia high in other parts of the globe noting the company has already started a process that would lead to Liberian seafarers being incorporated among the Italian registered vessels.
Mr. d’Amico recalled that his company (d’Amico) has been operating in Liberian since 1974. He also added that he is proud flying the flag of Liberia on Registered vessels in Italy and parts of the globe promising to seek Liberia’s interest in the Italian shipping industry.
Mr. Salvatore d’Amico currently serves as Fleet Director of d’Amico ; an Italian based shipping company that has over 60 years in the business of Maritime shipping with 22 registered vessels in Liberia.
