Ministry of Foreign takes on U. S. Embassy in a soccer match

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the weekend had a thrilling soccer match with the Eagles of the United States Embassy near Monrovia which ended two goals to one in favor of the diplomats of the Foreign Ministry. .

 

The event which brought together diplomats of the Ministry and officials of the United States Embassy was held in honor of outgoing Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy Sam Watson.

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the match also signifies the already cordial friendship subsisting between the two countries over the years.

 

Making brief remarks before the start of the game, Liberia’s Foreign Minister Gbehzohngar Milton Findley lauded the outgoing Deputy Chief of Mission for his role played in Liberia over the last two years.

 

Minister Findley added that the Ministry of  Foreign Affairs will continue to organize such sporting event with other foreign Missions accredited near Monrovia as a way of further cementing relations.

 

Also speaking, Deputy Foreign Minister for Administration Dee Maxwell Kemayah assured the US Embassy of the commitment of the Weah led government in continually engaging its counterparts.

 

 

For his part, the outgoing Deputy Chief of Mission of the United States Embassy Sam Watson, expressed his delights and assured that upon his return to the US, he would continue to seek the interest of Liberia in Washington.
