The Government of Liberia has announced the funeral arrangements for the late Ambassador Carlton Alexwyn Karpeh, former Ambassador-at-Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Republic of Cameroon.

A Foreign Ministry release states that on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, the Book of Condolence for the late Ambassador Carlton Alexwyn Karpeh will be opened in the Foyer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs beginning at 10:00 a.m.

On Friday, March 24, 2017, wake-keeping will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 10^th Street, Sinkor. 

On Saturday, March 25, 2017, funeral rites will be said over the remains of the late Ambassador Carlton Alexwyn Karpeh at the Trinity Cathedral Episcopal Church on Broad Street, beginning at 10:00 a.m., to be followed by interment at the Kaizer Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Brewerville, Virginia. 

The late Ambassador Carlton Alexwyn Karpeh, who also served as former Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, died in his 86^th year during the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his Duport Road residence in Paynesville.

In a related development, the Foreign Ministry release has also announced the Protocol for the signing of the Book of Condolence in the Foyer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

According to the Protocol, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. the Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, Honorable Joseph Nyuma Boakai and Members of the Cabinet will sign the Book of Condolence.

The President Pro-Tempore and Members of the Senate will sign the Book of Condolence from 10:35 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives from 11:05 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

At 11:35 a.m. to 11:55 a.m., His Honor the Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of Liberia will sign the Book of Condolence.

From 12:00 noon to 12:25 p.m., the Doyen and Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps will sign the Book of Condolence, followed by the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General and Heads of International Organizations.

Former Heads of State, Vice Presidents and Officials of Government will be ushered in to sign the Book of Condolence from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by Prelates and Members of the Clergy from 1:05 p.m. to 1:25 p.m.

Heads of Public Corporations, Autonomous Agencies, Bureaus and Commissioners will follow from 1:30 p.m. to 1:55 p.m.

From 2:00 p.m. to 2:25 p.m., Senior Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will sign the Book of Condolence followed by other officials of government from 2:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Heads of Political Parties, Civil Society Organizations, Business Houses, and the General Public will have an opportunity to sign the Book of Condolence, in that order, from 2:50 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
