President Sirleaf Congratulates the Federal Republic of Germany on 26th Anniversary of German Unity Day

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of the Federal Republic of Germany on the occasion commemorating the 26th Anniversary of German Unity Day.

 

In the message to His Excellency Joachim Gauck, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, President Sirleaf extended best wishes on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name and reiterated her satisfaction that Germany continues to prove to be a long-standing and reliable friend to Liberia.

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Sirleaf noted that on September 13, the Republic of Germany  marked another milestone in the reinforcement of excellent ties of friendship subsisting between Liberia and Germany when she received credentials from the German Ambassador accredited to Liberia, H.E. Hubert Josef Jager expressing the intensification of German support to Liberia in recent years, confirming Germany’s renewed commitment to supporting Liberia’s development agenda, especially in significant sectors including, energy, infrastructure, health, and transportation, for which she conveyed Liberia’s  gratitude.

 

The Liberian leader entertained the hope that the cordial relationship subsisting between their two countries and peoples will be further strengthened as Liberia takes this opportunity to congratulate Germany and its compatriots for the immense achievements over the years.
