President Sirleaf Congratulates Romania on 97th National Day

The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and People of the Republic of Romania on the occasion of their 97th National Day.

 

In her message to His Excellency Mr. Klaus Werner Iohannis, President of the Republic of Romania, President Sirleaf expressed hearty congratulations to the Government and People of Romania on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name.

 

The Liberian Leader observed that the two countries’ relations have been relatively good and hopes that it gets stronger. “We note that the relations between our two countries have been relatively good; however, we trust that it has the potential to be further enriched and strengthened, to reflect mutually beneficial socio-economic and cultural relations,” the Liberian Leader said.

 

According to President Johnson Sirleaf, Liberia subscribes to the United Nations’ principles safeguarding World Peace, Security and the Rule of law for which they have followed with great attention Romania’s role and contribution through the European Union towards international security and peace keeping, particularly the hosting of the World Peace Forum 2015 in Baia Mare, North Eastern City of Romania.

 

The Liberia leader further said that Liberia trusts that the relations between the two countries will continue to prosper as they continue to strive for a world free from fear. She wished for His Excellency good health and the People of the Republic of Romania a Joyous National Day.
