The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan has praised a fallen Liberian intellectual from the Center for the Promotion of Intellectual Development for his immense contributions made to the intellectual landscape of Liberia.

Foreign Minister Ngafuan spoke on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, when he signed the Book of Condolence in memory of the late Attorney Zedrous N. Kokeh, the Moderator- Elect of the Center for the Promotion of Intellectual Development.

While paying homage to the fallen Intellectual, the Liberian Foreign Minister asserted that whenever he enters an   intellectual forum, he feels at home, stressing, “This is our natural abode”.

“I was shocked when I came across one of the local newspapers on Monday, and I love to usually scroll through and see the major news items, it was when I saw comrade Zedrous Kokeh’s picture, I became crest-fallen because this was a man that I knew personally; although given my engagement externally, sometimes I don’t see some of you for quite a while; anyway, I have come to say that we all have lost a great comrade. This was a great comrade from the Premier Intellectual Center in the country” Foreign Minister Ngafuan declared with deep sorrow.

The Minister added that he remembers vividly some of the intellectual excise that took place right at the Center saying “I know that you all have kept the flavor alive; this comrade has just been elected as Moderator- Elect waiting for induction and this induction didn’t take place”.

In further remarks,   the Liberian Foreign Minister who is also a Poet and a political activist indicated that “It is often said, man proposes and God disposes. In the succession of time, there is one thing, that is, one check point; everyone will reach that check point; life is a multi-link way that empties into a check-point called death.  

The Foreign Minister, who personally presented a purse of US$200.00 to the forum, applauded the young folks at the center for their interest expressed in Intellectual engagement in Liberia.

The Dean of the Cabinet also cautioned young Liberians to be prepared for future challenges and to contribute to productive ventures at all time, adding that people, who contribute a lot, will lead to the forward movement of society through their individual commitments.
