The Government of Liberia announces with profound regrets the death, in his 84th year, of His Excellency T. Ernest Eastman, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Secretary-General of the Mano River Union (MRU); Knight Commander in the Most Venerable Order of the Knighthood of the Pioneers.

This sad and mournful event occurred on Monday, February 28th, 2011 at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital at the hour of 4:30 post meridian.

Prior to his demise, the late former Minister Eastman, an Astute Diplomat, Special Envoy, Distinguished and Outstanding Statesman served Liberia in many capacities with distinction.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Meanwhile, the Government of Liberia expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved family for the irreparable loss sustained and prays that the Almighty God will grant solace and comfort during their period of mourning.
