The President of the Republic of Liberia, H. E. Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has sent a congratulatory message to the President, Government and People of the Kingdom of Spain, on the auspicious occasion marking the observance of the National Day of that sisterly country.

In the message to his Majesty King Juan Carlos, I, President Johnson-Sirleaf conveyed warmest felicitations and best wishes to the Spanish leader, and through him, to the Government and People of the Kingdom of Spain, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name, and noted with admiration that the tremendous progress made by Spain under the wise leadership of King Carlos, I, following his long years of service to the Spanish people.

President Johnson-Sirleaf also recalled that the historic ties of friendship between the two countries shows a record of mutual perspective and friendly cooperation. The Liberian leader further wished that Liberia and Spain can work together to discover and implement broader means of economic collaboration, with maximum benefits of their two people.
