President Weah Praises Equatorial Guinea Following 50th Independence Celebration

President George Manneh Weah has conveyed a congratulatory message to the Government and people of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea on the occasion marking the 50th Independence Anniversary of that country.

 

October 12th is celebrated each year as the Independence Day of Equatorial Guinea.  Equatorial Guinea became a Republic after its independence was conceded on October 12, 1968 with Francisco MacĂ­as Nguema elected as its first President. 

 

In his message to His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of Liberia, extended warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of Equatorial Guinea following the observance of their 50th Independence Anniversary.   

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President George Weah emphasized, with deep appreciation, the developmental strives Equatorial Guinea continues to make over the years.

 

The Liberian leader noted that as the people of Equatorial Guinea celebrate this historic milestone, it is his prayer that the Almighty God will continue to endow President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo with strength and good health as he leads his people to greater prosperity.
