President Weah Consoles the People of Burundi, Following President Nkurunziza’s Death

President George Manneh Weah has sent a condolence message to the Government and People of the Republic of Burundi, following the death of His Excellency Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza, President of the Republic of Burundi.

 

President Pierre Nkurunziza died recently as a result of a cardiac arrest.

 

In his message to the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Burundi, His Excellency  Mr. Pascal Nyabenda , President Weah declared “It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we have learned of the death of one of Africa’s greatest sons, His Excellency  Pierre Nkurunziza.”

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President George Manneh Weah said the late President Pierre Nkurunziza will be remembered for his profound patriotism and loyalty in serving his country and people.

 

President George Manneh Weah then on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, extended heartfelt condolences to the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Burundi and Acting Head of the Government of Burundi, His Excellency Pascal Nyabenda, and through him, to the Government and People of Burundi, especially the bereaved family for the irreparable loss sustained.  

 

President George Manneh Weah also prayed that the Almighty God will grant the people of Burundi strength, courage and fortitude during this difficult period of national mourning.
