President Weah Congratulates Ukraine on National Day Observance

The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency George Manneh Weah has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and People of the Republic of Ukraine on the occasion marking the NationalDay of that country.

 

The Republic of Ukraine gained its independence on August 24, 1991 from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) which is celebrated each year as Ukraine National Day.     

 

In the message to His Ukrainian Counterpart, His Excellency, Mr. Petro Poroshenko, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of Liberia, extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of Ukraine as they commemorate this historic event.  

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President George Manneh Weah further expressed confidence that as Liberians join the Ukrainian people in commemorating this milestone in the history of their country, the existing partnership between both countries, particularly, in field of Agriculture through the National Academy of the Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine will usher in people to people collaboration and spur cooperation in other sectors that  will  be of mutual benefit to the two countries.     

 

The Liberian leader then wished for President Petro Peroshenko good health and happiness and for the people of Ukraine peace and prosperity.
