President Weah Congratulates Burundi, Rwanda and Somalia as They Celebrate Their 56th and 58thIndependence Respectively
The President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. George Manneh Weah, has sent three separate congratulatory messages to Burundi, Rwanda, and Somalia on the occasion marking their 56th and 58th independence anniversaries.
On July 1, 1962, Burundi and Rwanda gained their independence anniversaries celebrating 56 years of existence as independent states.
In his messages to His Excellency Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza, President of the Republic of Burundi, and His Excellency Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, President Weah expressed immense pleasure to them and through them, their Governments and Peoples warmest congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in his own name.
President Weah trusts that this occasion will inspire national renewal and present the opportunity for the people of Burundi to reflect on the vision of the forefathers of Africa. He further hoped that Liberia and Burundi will work together to foster international peace. “As you celebrate this historic day, it is my fervent hope that our two countries will continue to collaborate in furtherance of promoting international peace and security,” President Weah said.
President Weah looks forward to further strengthening the excellent bilateral ties subsisting between Rwanda and Liberia in the spirit of African solidarity.
He prayed that the Almighty God will continue to inspire and endow Presidents Nkurunziza and Kagame with abundant wisdom and blessings as they lead their compatriots to greater prosperity.
In a related development, the Liberian leader has also congratulated His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, President of the Republic of Somalia on the occasion marking Somalia’s 58th Independence Anniversary.
President Weah extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of Somalia as they commemorate this day. He believes that such occasions will help in the inspiration of those that formed the land; adding, “We trust that this occasion will inspire national renewal and present the opportunity for the people of Somalia to reflect on the vision of the forefathers of Africa,” President Weah said.
President Weah prayed that Allah will continue to endow President Mohamed with wisdom as he leads his people to peace and prosperity.
