President Weah Applauds Romania on National Day celebration

President George Manneh Weah has extended warmest felicitations and best wishes to the Government and People of the Republic of Romania on the occasion commemorating the National Day of that country.

 

In the message to His Excellency Klaus Lohannis, President of the Republic of Romania, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of Liberia, extended heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of Romania as they celebrate this historic event.

 

While expressing excitement over the celebration, President Weah stated “As a friend of Liberia, we join you and your compatriots to reflect on the great strides Romania has made as a nation”.

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the Liberian leader said his Government cherishes the principles that bind the two countries spanning over forty six-years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

 

 President Weah also assured his Rumanian counterpart of Liberia’s commitment and desire to accelerate engagements, aimed at strengthening the bilateral ties between Liberia and Romania.

 

President Weah also expressed delight over the request by the Vice Prime Minister of Romania, Her Excellency Ana Birchall to meet with Liberia’s Vice President, Jewel Howard Taylor on the margins of the Women Political Leaders Global Forum taking place in Reykjavik, Iceland, to discuss issues of common interest within the framework of multilateral and bilateral cooperation.   

 

The Liberian President expressed confidence that the meeting between Vice President Taylor and the Vice Prime Minister of Romania will heighten collaboration between Liberia and Romania and enhance people to people cooperation and joint ventures in the areas of agriculture, science and technology as well as education.

 

President Weah then wished for President Klaus Lohannis and the people of Romania good health and prosperity as they celebrate this landmark occasion.
