The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has sent a congratulatory message to the President, Government and People of the sisterly Republic of Senegal on the auspicious occasion marking the 48th Independence Anniversary of that country.
 
In the message to her Senegalese counterpart, His Excellency President Abdoullaye Wade, Madam Johnson-Sirleaf extended warmest greetings and sincerest congratulations to the Senegalese leader, and through him, to the Government and People of Senegal, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in her own name and expressed renewed optimism that the two countries and peoples will continue to work together for the enhancement of bilateral ties, as well as the accomplishment of the aims and objectives of ECOWAS.

President Johnson-Sirleaf then prayed that the Almighty Allah will endow his Excellency president Abdoullaye Wade with wisdom and continued good health as he steers the affairs of his country and people.
