President Sirleaf Hails Guinea’s 55th Independence Anniversary

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a congratulatory message to the Government and People of the Republic of Guinea on the historic occasion commemorating the 55th Independence Anniversary of that sisterly Republic.

In President Sirleaf’s message to the Guinean Leader, His Excellency Professor Alpha Conde’, she extended to the Guinean Leader, the Government and People of Guinea heartiest felicitations and best wishes on behalf of her and the Government and People of the Republic of Liberia.

“As you and the stalwart People of Guinea celebrate this historic occasion, we in Liberia are equally happy to join you in celebrating this unique event. We note with satisfaction the bond of friendship and cooperation so happily subsisting between our two countries and Peoples as evidenced by the interaction of our Peoples based on common culture and tradition”, President Sirleaf noted in her message.

She then entertained the hope that both countries will continue to work cooperatively in promoting the aims and objectives of the Mano River Union (MRU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the Constitutive Act of the African Union (AU), and in the framework of the United Nations (UN) while praying the Almighty Allah’s show of abundance wisdom and prolonged good health for President Conde’ as he continues to steer the affairs of that noble country.
