The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has sent a congratulatory message to Government and People of the Republic of Ukraine on the joyful occasion marking the 20th Independence Anniversary of that country.

In the message to her Ukraine counterpart, His Excellency Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych, President Sirleaf extended sincere wishes on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name.
President Sirleaf recalls with delight twenty years ago when Ukraine emerged from the shade of the Soviet Union and charted a new track toward democracy and freedom, she noted that over the years Ukraine has made democratic advances and significant contributions to universal peace and stability.

The President then intimated her fervent desire that the two countries will work together in strengthening their relations as both countries evolve new and more rewarding areas of mutual benefits and strive for advancement of human dignity, world peace and security.
