President Sirleaf Congratulates Namibia on 26th Independence Anniversary
The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and people of Namibia on the occasion marking the 26th Independence Anniversary of that country on March 21, 2016.
This holiday celebrates the day, when Namibia gained independence from South Africa in 1990.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, in the message to her Namibian counterpart, His Excellency Mr. Hage Geingob, the Liberian leader extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Government and people of Namibia as they commemorate this joyous occasion, on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Liberia and in her own name.
President Sirleaf entertained the hope that the cordial ties of friendship subsisting between their two countries and peoples will be further strengthened and mutually rewarding as they continue to work together in furtherance of the principles of the African Union and the United Nations for the promotion of international peace, security and economic cooperation amongst all nations.
She prayed that the Almighty God will endow President Geingob with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads his people to sustainable peace and greater prosperity.
