President Sirleaf Congratulates Luxembourg on National Day, Thursday, June 23
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and people of Luxembourg on the joyous occasion commemorating their National Day.
June 23 is celebrated as Luxembourg's National Day (Celebration publique de l'anniversaire du souverain) and the official birthday of the Grand Duke although no Grand Duke/Duchess has ever had a real birthday that fell on this day.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, in her message to His Royal Highness Henri, Grand Duke Of Luxembourg, President Sirleaf, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia and on her own behalf, extended sincere congratulations to His Royal Highness, and through him, to the Government and people of Luxembourg on the happy occasion commemorating the National Day of that great country.
The Liberian leader further indicated that the observance of the country’s National Day offers yet another opportunity for Liberia to renew its commitment to the strengthening of the excellent relations that so happily exist between the two countries and peoples.
She stressed that as the two nations endeavor to enhance their engagements bilaterally and multilaterally and to ensure that these excellent ties are translated into mutually beneficial rewards, her government looks forward to expanding cooperation in other relevant fields including the financial and telecommunications sectors.
The Liberian President then wished for His Royal Highness continued good health and strength and for the people of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, peace and sustained prosperity.
