President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of the Republic of Guinea Bissau on the occasion commemorating the 43^rd Independence Anniversary of that country on September 24th.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, in her message to His Excellency Mr. Jose Mario Vaz, President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, President Johnson Sirleaf, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, expressed hope that the two countries will cultivate new frontiers in their bilateral ties as they continue to promote international peace and security in keeping with the principles of the African Union and the United Nations.  

The Liberian leader further hoped that the bond of friendship so happily subsisting between the two countries will be further strengthened for the mutual benefits of their respective peoples.
